Natalee ma’s new torment

The mother of missing teen Natalee Holloway lashed out yesterday at Aruban authorities over their handling of a jawbone that turned up on a beach.

A few hours after testing revealed the bone did not belong to the young woman, Beth Holloway let loose on the conduct of those who have failed to solve the case for more than five years.

“Beth accepts the forensic conclusions, but is emotionally exhausted from the inexplicably long wait, and deeply disappointed in the time and manner in which she learned of the results,” said her attorney, John Q. Kelly.

“Apparently, Aruban prosecutors were more sensitive to media concerns than the painful vigil of a mother.”

Authorities finally came to their conclusion about the jawbone — discovered by a tourist Nov. 12 — after a scientific examination by the Netherlands Forensic Institute. Holloway, 18, from Mountain Brook, Ala., vanished May 30, 2005, during a high-school graduation trip to the island resort.
