NFL Blitz’s Week 7 picks

While what seemed like dozens of players were taking shots to the head last week, NFL Blitz took it on the chin with a dismal showing. And with so many narrow lines in Week 7, our confidence in a quick turnaround isn’t exactly running high:

(Picks made against the Sportsbook.com spread)

Giants (+3) at Cowboys: Desperate team at home with big receivers and an offensive line that’s given up just seven sacks in five games. Not a good matchup for Big Blue. COWBOYS

Steelers (-3) at Dolphins: Pittsburgh has beaten Miami four times in a row and has won each of its past three road games. STEELERS

Bengals (+3½) at Falcons: Matt Ryan is 15-1 at home as a starter and is looking for his 12th consecutive win at the Georgia Dome. He’ll get it. FALCONS

Rams (+3) at Buccaneers: Josh Freeman is quickly becoming one of the league’s better young quarterbacks and gets a chance to outshine No. 1 overall pick Sam Bradford today. BUCCANEERS

49ers (-3) at Panthers: Carolina is going back to Matt Moore, but it won’t matter – even at home against 1-5 San Francisco. 49ERS

Redskins (+3) at Bears: Washington has won nine of the past 11 meetings in this series but is giving up a staggering 420 yards a game. BEARS

Browns (+13) at Saints: Drew Brees is 3-0 against Cleveland and unbeaten in his past eight starts against AFC opponents. SAINTS

Bills (+14) at Ravens: Baltimore is angry after a tough road loss to New England and gets the NFL’s worst team at home. RAVENS

Eagles (+3) at Titans: Andy Reid has never beaten Jeff Fisher (0-3). The streak definitely won’t end today. TITANS

Jaguars (+9) at Chiefs: Fresh off the street, Todd Bouman could start today for Jacksonville. ’Nuff said. CHIEFS

Cardinals (+7) at Seahawks: Arizona has won six of its past seven meetings with Seattle and is 12-2 in its past 14 division games. CARDINALS

Raiders (+7½) at Broncos: Denver is reeling and hasn’t beaten Oakland at Invesco Field since 2007, but none of that will matter today. BRONCOS

Patriots (+2½) at Chargers: Despite it’s woes, San Diego always seems to give New England fits at home. CHARGERS

Vikings (+2½) at Packers: It’s too easy to make a Favre joke, so we won’t. Just know that Minnesota’s three-game win streak over its huge rival stops here. PACKERS

LAST WEEK: 4-9-1

SEASON RECORD: 36-50-4 (.400)
