The Mets placed Rod Barajas on the 15-Day disabled list today with a mild left oblique strain, retroactive to July 25.
Unlike Angel Pagan and Jose Reyes, the team said Barajas will not resume baseball activities until he is pain free. Infielder Mike Hessman was called up from Triple-A Buffalo to take Barajas’ spot.
R.A. Dickey, who left yesterday’s game in Los Angeles after stumbling on the mound, reported no hip soreness today and will be reevaluated tomorrow.
