TODAY

YOU CAN HITCH A RIDE: To Rockaway Beach, of course, for the Fourth Annual Rockstock and Barrels Festival. The all-day fest will feature free skate jams, demos and a surf contest sponsored by the Eastern Surfing Association, plus live music from the likes of Indaculture and Walker at the BOTG. Surfing begins at 8 a.m., music at noon, free. Rockaway Beach at 90th Street; nynjsurf.com.

WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE: Show off your vocalizing skills at the “Jungle Book” Singalong at Knitting Factory Brooklyn, where kids comedian Jeremy Pollet (and his puppet sidekick) will host a screening of the Disney flick featuring on-screen lyrics during musical numbers. Themed costumes are encouraged! 2:15 p.m., $8 for adults, $4 for kids. 361 Metropolitan Ave., at Havemeyer Street; 347-529-6696.

TOMORROW

SOMETHING FISHY: Every weekend in June, the New York Aquarium will offer its Fish Tales Extravaganza, a celebration of kids books with marine themes. Today, hear a reading of “Sergio Makes a Splash” by author Edel Rodriguez and see performances of “The Girl From the Sea” by the Alice Farley Dance Theater. Readings at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Free with admission, $13 for adults, $9 for kids. Surf Avenue at West Eighth Street, Coney Island, Brooklyn; 718-265-FISH.

CANNES FOR KIDS: There won’t be a red carpet at the Brooklyn International Film Fest’s sixth annual Kidsfilmfest, but there will be 11 short films, both animated and live-action (our pick: “Electric Car” by They Might be Giants, top), related workshops and a Q&A session. Sunday’s festivities will be held at indieScreen in Williamsburg. 1 p.m., $10 for adults, free for kids 12 and under. For a complete schedule, visit kidsfilmfest.org.
