Goldsmith’s other creds

Several readers and Stephen Goldsmith boosters wrote in this morning to note that he has a whole other connection to Mayor Bloomberg than what I wrote about today – including a book he recently wrote on civic work at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard.

“The Power of Social Innovation: How civic entrepreneurs ignite community networks for good” is the book, and Bloomberg wrote the forward.

The book was also co-authored with former Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton adviser Gigi Georges, who leads the New York office of the Glover Park Group (where current Deputy Mayor Howard Wolfson also worked).

Goldsmith has also been the chair of the Corporation for National Service, which dovetails with Bloomberg’s own (and for that matter President Obama’s own) interest in service.

“He’s truly bipartisan,” said one longtime friend of Goldsmith, despite his steep Republican creds
