CKE bidder

CKE Restaurants, oper ator of the Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s chains, said it received a takeover offer from Apollo Management for $12.55 a share — supe rior to the terms it agreed to in February with Thomas H. Lee Partners.

Coach rises

Coach beat estimates with third-quarter profit of $157.6 million, a 37 per cent increase. Its shares, up more than 130 percent over the past year, added 36 cents to $42.22.

Greek relief

Greece raised $2.63 bil lion through a three- month treasury-bill auc tion to yield 3.65 percent amid strong demand. Combined with a sale of six-month and 12-month bills sold a week ago, Greece is expected to have met its April debt payments.
