Cameron Douglas’ girlfriend opts to stay in jail

Drug dealer-turned-snitch Cameron Douglas’ girlfriend opted today to stay in the slammer while awaiting sentencing next week for her role in his cross-country methamphetamine racket.

Kelly Sott, 33, faces up to six months behind bars under sentencing guidelines, but has already spent seven months locked up since getting busted for smuggling heroin to actor Michael Douglas’ son while he was on house arrest last summer.

Prosecutors said there had been some talk about springing Sott on bail, but her lawyers took a pass.

“We’re so close to the sentencing, at this point we felt it better for her to wait and have her walk out the door (afterward),” defense lawyer Jason Yang said outside court.

Manhattan federal Judge Richard Berman warned Sott that he wasn’t bound by terms of her plea bargain with prosecutors, meaning she could get up to a year in jail at her scheduled March 16 sentencing.

Sott — who kicked heroin after getting arrested — didn’t speak during the brief court hearing, but waved girlishly to prosecutor Aimee Hector before being led out.

Douglas, 31, faces at least 10 years at his own sentencing in April, although prosecutors could seek to have the mandatory minimum eased due to his cooperation with authorities.
