Dow drops

US stocks retreated, trimming the first weekly gain in more than a month, as China’s order for banks to boost re serves fueled concern of a slowdown there. The Dow Jones industrial av erage dropped 45.05 points to 10,099.14 after losing as much as 160 points earlier. The Stan dard & Poor’s 500 index slipped 2.96 percent to 1,075.51. The Nasdaq gained 6.12 to 2,183.53.

Buffett ‘Bs’

Trading in Warren Buf fett’s Berkshire Hathaway B-shares was extremely heavy yesterday, as more than 219 million Class B shares changed hands. The B shares rose 21 cents, or 0.3 percent, to $76.90, while the Class A shares rose $772.60, or 0.7 percent, to $115,722.60.

Wal-Mart

Wal-Mart reached an agreement with Live Na tion Entertainment to sell tickets to concerts and other events at about 500 stores in the next few months.

FINRA pay

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority said a committee will re view claims that its man agers are overpaid after a California broker com plained about the $3.26 million that former FINRA CEO Mary Scha piro, now SEC chairman, received in 2008.
