Fed up

The Federal Reserve asked a US appeals court to block a ruling that would force the central bank to reveal identities of firms it bailed out. The US Court of Appeals in Manhattan will decide whether the Fed must release records of the unprecedented $2 trillion loan program launched in 2008.

AOL said it started notifying workers of involuntary job cuts yesterday after 1,100 accepted buyout packages as part of a $200 million restructuring.

BofA shuffle

Gregory Curl, the BofA executive who lost out on the top job at the US bank, is expected to see his responsibilities cut in an upcoming management shuffle, the Wall Street Journal reported. Curl is expected to lose the chief risk officer post as new CEO Brian Moynihan installs his own staff, sources said.

Suicide

California money manager Danny Pang committed suicide by taking an overdose of painkillers and other drugs, the Orange County, Calif. coroner’s office said. At his death, Mr. Pang was battling allegations that he was behind a massive international fraud.
