Theater company robbed!

84th Precinct

Brooklyn Heights–DUMBO–Boerum Hill–Downtown

Players played

A thief — apparently not a fan of community theater — swiped $2,800 from a locked file cabinet in a Willow Place theater operated by the Heights Players.

Staffers realized the art-hating bandit had struck the beloved neighborhood theater between Joralemon and State streets at around 6 pm on Dec. 19, as they prepared for that night’s performance of “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown.”

Cops are investigating whether the suspect may have been a disgruntled customer who attended an earlier performance, which might have been justified given our critic’s review of the show.

Odd request

A thug pilfered a woman’s purse on the F train on Nov. 29 — and then called his victim the next day to ask that she not cancel her credit cards.

Cops say that the perp made his move at the Bergen Street station at around noon, snatching the victim’s wallet and making a quick getaway. The next day, the brigand called the victim and said that she didn’t need to cancel the cards.

“I have your wallet,” he said. “I only wanted your money.”

The call was foolish for two reasons: the victim had already cancelled the cards, and her work phone had caller ID, which is helping the cops find the crook.

iGrab

A troublemaker snatched an iPod on Dec. 15 at the DeKalb Avenue subway platform in Downtown, but didn’t get far before cops apprehended him.

The victim told police that she was waiting to catch a Bay Ridge-bound R train at around 2 pm when the suspect swiped the music player. But Officer Leonard Dyce slapped the cuffs on a juvenile suspect minutes later at Ashland Place.

In an unrelated theft on the same day, a thief swiped a purse on a Flatbush Avenue-bound 2 train, evading authorities. The thief got away with a Blackberry and $50, fleeing the train after it pulled into the Boro Hall station at around 3:30 pm.

Cab kerfuffle

A cab driver got into a fight with a passenger in another car, hurling punches and fruit in a classic road rage incident on Dec. 18.

The rowdy incident began at around 4 pm when the taxi driver tried to slip in front of another vehicle at the congested corner of Joralemon and Court streets. When the other auto stood its ground, its passenger pointed America’s other national bird at the cabbie, who apparently didn’t appreciate the gesture.

That’s when the cabbie threw a fruit pit at the passenger with such great precision that it hit him in the forehead and caused swelling, according to cops.

But the cabbie wasn’t through, and he exited the vehicle and delivered three blows to the passenger’s face.

Still the passenger told the boys in blue that he didn’t want to press charges against the yellow cab driver who saw red, insisting, “I’ll take him to court.”

iGrab

A thug choked and punched a woman, all for a measly iPhone on Boerum Place on Dec. 16.

The victim told cops that she was between Joralemon and Livingston streets at around 5:30 pm when she got into a verbal dispute with her would-be mugger.

Words quickly gave way to fists, as the perp choked the victim with her own scarf, punched her, and then escaped with her iPhone.

Wheeled bandit

Using an all-too-familiar technique, a thief on a bicycle snatched a woman’s purse and made a hasty getaway on Dec. 20.

The pedaling-pushing perp approached the victim from behind at Garden Place and Joralemon Street at around 8:30 pm, snatching a purse with $200, credit cards and a cellphone.
