Police: High LI woman drives car into neighbor’s living room

HOLTSVILLE, N.Y. — Police say a Long Island woman, high on a prescription painkiller, backed her car across her neighbors’ lawn and right into their living room. The family of four was not home.

The crash on Sunday pushed their living room furniture into their dining room. The car stopped just short of the house’s rear wall.

After that, the driver pulled away and struck again — damaging her son’s parked car and her own garage door.

The Holtsville woman was hospitalized for neck and leg injuries. She’ll be arraigned Feb. 11 on a charge of driving while impaired.

She told police that she was taking the painkiller for her back.
