No apologies, Tiger

* Who are these losers who feel like they need a personal apology from Tiger Woods? Are you his wife? His kids? His mother? If not, he has no need to apologize to you and you seriously need to think about going somewhere and trying to obtain a life of some sort. Woods is not an icon, not a god, not an idol. He plays golf for a living. What did his “apology” do for you exactly? One, you still don’t know his side of the story. Two, he didn’t apologize for cheating, he apologized for getting caught. And, three, it’s none of our business. If you feel like you don’t want to buy a Buick, use your American Express or buy a Nike golf shirt because Tiger Woods cheated on his wife, then don’t. If you don’t want to root for him at golf tournaments, then don’t. Move on and get over it.

* Tiger Woods breathed life into a sport populated by overfed Caucasians in ridiculous pants. Now this extraordinary athlete has brought an every-day man’s problem to the elitist game of golf — marital discord. Millions can relate to that. Nike should double whatever they’re paying him.

CHARLIE CARILLO

London

* I think I can safely speak for all red-blooded, happily married American men (and I stress happily married because I know my wife will be reading this) when I say if I’d known a geek like Tiger Woods could be a magnet for these scorching hot babes, I would have worked a lot harder on my golf game when I was a kid.

DANNY GREGORY

* Tiger Woods, pure and simple, is a disgrace! From his coarse and unprofessional conduct on the golf course to his multiple adulterous liaisons, he should not be looked up to by anyone. Hopefully he’ll stay hidden behind his Web site forever.

WILLIAM HEALEY

Hanover Neck, N.J.

* Tiger Woods has a trophy wife, a trophy mistress, too much time on his hands and too much money. A typical American jock!

Pierce-ing blow

* What a darn shame for Giants fans that Antonio Pierce is out of the rest of the season. If it was you or I, we’d still be sitting in a jail cell for the multiple offenses this clown committed while helping out his friend, Plaxico Burress. Goodbye and good riddance!

Bland leading bland

* Players take on the personality of their coach. The Giants defense has taken on Bill Sheridan’s personality: No emotion, bland and uninspiring. He was handed an upgraded unit after signing several free agents and they are one of the worst defenses in the league. Former coordinator Steve Spagnuolo had the Giants D playing like the Lawrence Taylor-led defenses of the 1980s. Spags is a fiery competitor. Sheridan is a dud and the defense is playing like a dud.

Sliding rants

* The criticism of Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez over his head-first dive for a first down on Thursday night is completely unfair. I hope Sanchez’s new sliding coach, Yankees manager Joe Girardi, enlightens Jets coach Rex Ryan on the way athletes act instinctively in the heat of battle. Sanchez would risk much more serious injury if he suddenly tried to go down feet-first after he had begun to dive head-first. The time to go down feet-first is when Sanchez is facing a single tackler and he has time to adjust. In the play on Thursday, he was surrounded and went down the only way he could. If a quarterback is so fragile that he can never dive forward, he shouldn’t be in the NFL.

Way to go, Woodson!

* Charles Woodson, who plays for the NFL’s Packers in obscure Green Bay, Wis., donated $2 million of his own money to a children’s hospital in Michigan. That’s right — his own money. Quick, think of the last time an overpaid baseball player did something charitable like that. Exactly, I couldn’t think of one either. Woodson probably makes about one fourth of what the top baseball players make. This was truly a Thanksgiving miracle.
