Psyche exam ordered for LI murder suspect

CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. — A Long Island woman accused of killing her husband will undergo a psychiatric exam to determine whether she is fit to stand trial.

Kathleen Prisco, who’s 48, has pleaded not guilty to murder charges. Prosecutors say she stabbed 54-year-old Ralph Prisco more than a dozen times in their home in Fort Salonga, a wealthy community on Long Island’s north shore.

She is under a suicide watch at the Suffolk County jail.

A district court judge ordered the exam Monday; Prisco is due in court Thursday for a bail hearing.

She feared being “framed” by her tax attorney husband, according to court papers. Neither prosecutors nor her defense attorney were able to interpret what that meant.
