Booze-fueled slashing

Booze-fueled slashing

A 48-year-old man at the wrong place at the wrong time ended up in the hospital last week after he was allegedly attacked by three drunken, knife-wielding goons.

Police said that the victim was passing the corner of Avenue U and East 55th Street at about 1:30 a.m. on October 5 when he walked by 25-year-old Mariano Ramirez, 27-year-old Louis Dominguez and 28-year-old Antonio Hernandez.

The three men had just been ejected from a nearby bar for acting disorderly and wanted to take their frustration out on someone, officials allege. The victim was the first person they saw.

Cops alleged that the trio jumped him, stabbing the innocent bystander in the back and arm.

Witnesses called 911. Responding officers rounded up the three suspects a short time later, charging all three with gang assault and menacing.

None of the victim’s injuries were considered serious, officials said.

Tripped up over love

A love-lorn thief was arrested for breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s home after he fell from her fire escape and was knocked unconscious, officials said.

Police said that the 19-year-old broke into his former love’s building on Kings Highway near Avenue R just before 5 a.m. on October 11.

He reportedly entered the lobby without incident and ascended the stairs to the roof. He then got on the fire escape, which he used to reach his ex-girlfriend’s apartment window.

The thief had broken through the window and was tearing up the apartment before the victim could call authorities. When police arrived, they spotted the man scrambling down the fire escape.

But that last step must have been a doozy, police theorize. When they reached the fire escape, they found the teen on the ground unconscious. Police believe he tried to either jump from the fire escape or from a low roof, but didn’t land on his feet.

Police took him to Lutheran Medical Center for treatment After he woke up, he was charged with burglary.

Cops did not disclose the suspect’s name because of his relationship to the victim.

Four-legged weapon

Cops in Midwood are investigating a man’s claims that he almost became kibbles and bits for a pit bull and its menacing master.

A 57-year-old man told police that he was walking along East 15th Street near Quentin Road at 6 p.m. on October 8 when he was confronted by a 50-year-old man he had a previous argument with.

This time, the man came with his dog, which he allegedly threatened to sic on the victim, claiming, “I will make trouble for you.”

In the end, nothing happened, but the threats stuck with the victim, who called police and filed a harassment charge with the 61st Precinct.

Area cops were in the process of questioning the dog owner as this paper went to press.

Beaten on bus

A 67-year-old woman was attacked on a city bus rolling through Midwood after she locked eyes with a violent 16-year-old.

As of this writing, cops were still looking for the teen responsible for hitting and scratching the senior on a B44 bus rolling by the corner of Kings Highway and Nostrand Avenue.

Police were told that the woman was on the bus at 6 p.m. on October 9 when the surly 16-year-old flashed her a dirty look.

“What are you looking at?” the woman asked before the teen pounced.

The victim suffered a few minor cuts. Her attacker got off the bus at the next stop and ran away, cops were told.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to come forward.

Calls can be made to the 61st Precinct at (718) 627-6611. All calls will be kept confidential.

Bystander to the rescue

A Good Samaritan helped police track down and capture a mugger on East 29th Street.

Police said that a 60-year-old woman was walking between avenues S and T, talking on her cell phone, just after 9 p.m. on October 10 when suspected mugger Errol Jones, 57, jumped her from behind.

Jones allegedly threw the woman to the ground, grabbed her by the hair and demanded her property.

“Be quiet or I’m gonna hurt ya,” he allegedly claimed as he robbed the woman of cell phone and a few personal items.

Jones allegedly ran off, but was soon stopped by a witness farther down on East 29th Street.

Responding officers took Jones into custody, charging him with robbery.

Fiendish fashionista

Nearly $600 in clothing walked right out of Christina Michelle Fashion, 1605 Avenue U, last week, police said.

Workers told police that an unidentified woman managed to palm 45 pairs of jeans and five tops and place them in a white bag at 6:10 p.m. on October 8.

When a worker witnessed the theft, she tried to intercept, but the woman had already fled the store, officials said.

Old Mill Basin shooting investigated

Police are expanding their search for the gunmen responsible for opening fire on two Old Mill Basin residents last week.

Officials were told that two masked men entered a home on East 58th Street near Avenue K just after 8:30 a.m. on October 5 and opened fire on a 38-year-old woman and a 37-year-old man they found inside.

The female victim was struck twice in the leg, officials said. The male suffered a gunshot wound to the arm.

Witnesses said that the unidentified suspects fled the area in a brown jeep.

Police were still searching for the gunmen, who they believe specifically targeted the couple, as this paper went to press. Detectives are looking into the possibility that the victims had a previous history with their assailants, who they may know, according to sources.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact the 63rd Precinct at (718) 258-4411. All calls will be kept confidential.

Airing the place out

A thief cleaned out an Ocean Avenue home Friday as the 43-year-old resident washed her clothes at an area laundromat.

The woman told police that she left her home, located between Quentin Road and Avenue R, at about 5 p.m. on October 3.

When she returned three hours later, she noticed that her air conditioner had been pulled out of her window and left in the yard.

Police believe that the thief removed the air conditioner, squirmed through the hole left behind and then raided the Midwood address.

The thief fled the home with an assortment of jewelry, cops were told.
