Pained DeLay down to DeFeet

TOM DeLay’s barking dogs did him in.

DeLay dropped out of “Dancing With the Stars” last night after toughing it out with painful stress fractures on both feet.

He was joined on the live telecast by dance partner Cheryl Burke, shook his head and said a simple “no” when asked by host Tom Bergeron if he could continue.

“If you can’t practice . . . you make a fool out of yourself out here and I don’t want to do that to Cheryl,” said a choked-up DeLay.

In a twist, DeLay and Burke were given the go-ahead by the show’s fans to continue on the show for another week. Actress Debi Mazar got the boot last night.

DeLay, 62, had been warned by doctors not to dance on Monday’s show.

He didn’t listen, and was in lots of pain after doing the samba.

“My feet were saying, ‘What did you do last night?’ ” DeLay said.

The former GOP House majority leader’s dancing left a lot to be desired, but he had improved each week after a disastrous opening night.

DeLay is the latest “DWTS” casualty. Last season, Jewel and “Access Hollywood” co-anchor Nancy O’Dell dropped out before the competition due to injuries.
