A woman has admitted trying to peddle a sketch stolen from a Manhattan museum devoted to a Russian-born painter and philosopher.
Natella Croussouloudis pleaded guilty Wednesday to criminal possession of stolen property. She admitted offering Nicholas Roerich’s “Himalayas” to an undercover police officer last month for $20,000.
“Himalayas” — once appraised at $125,000 — and another sketch disappeared from the Nicholas Roerich Museum in June. The other sketch was mailed back.
The 42-year-old Croussouloudis expects to get five years’ probation at her Oct. 30 sentencing. Co-defendant Denis Ryjenko is serving four months in jail after pleading guilty last month.
Authorities are investigating how the two got the artworks.
