Hot stuff coming

PREPARE yourself to party like it’s 1969. ABKCO Music & Records, the company with the rights to the Rolling Stones’ 1960s recordings, is releasing a couple of live albums from the band’s heyday.

Pack your metaphorical bags for a trip down memory lane.

Fired as the Stones’ manager decades ago, ABCKO held onto the master recordings of some of the Stones’ most famed songs. They have since reconciled — and while the band is still making new music, enthusiasts and music lovers alike will be able to revisit the magical era of the band’s beginnings.

The special multidisc composition includes songs from a November 1969 two-night performance at Madison Square Garden and their 1970 album “Get Yer Ya-Ya’s Out!” This performance was one of the band’s firsts after losing member Brian Jones and gaining guitarist Mick Taylor, with whom they recorded the hit “Midnight Rambler.”

The compilation will be released Nov. 3 — 40 years after its original recording.

The package features a remastered version of the album from the original vinyl, and opening acts by B.B. King and Ike and Tina Turner. Five unreleased tracks will be available along with a DVD of footage and a 56-page booklet. If you can hang tight two more weeks, you can get your hands on the “super deluxe” kit, which includes vinyl tracks and audio discs.

The video footage is said to shed a light no longer seen on live concerts.

It was shortly after their New York City performance that a fan was stabbed to death in front of the stage, changing concert protocol forever.
