Week 4 waiver report

With bye weeks now upon us, teams dealing with injuries or lack of depth may have to tap into ashallow pool of talent for week-by-week fill-ins.

Good luck. There’s not much out there, outside of one prime target:

Glen Coffee, RB, 49ers

With Frank Gore out at least a couple weeks, and maybe more, the impressive rookie gets the ball for the Niners. He’s taken in just 30 percent of leagues at one prominent Web site, so chances are he’s available. If you get him, feel free to start him until Gore returns.

After Coffee, the fantasy potential in the remaining prospects takes a deep dip south.

Brent Celek, TE, Eagles

Appears to be among the favorite targets of backup QB Kevin Kolb. With the return of Donovan McNabb still up in the air, he is worth grabbing if you have room on your roster. But be advised: The Eagles have a bye this week.

Nate Burleson, WR, Seahawks

Seneca Wallace has yet to realize T.J. Houshmandzadeh is on the team. And Burleson is reaping the rewards. We’re not confident in his quarterback, but we like Burleson better than Nate Washington and others you might find on the wire.

Pierre Garcon, WR, Colts

Rookie could post solid numbers until the return of starter Anthony Gonzalez from a knee injury, which isn’t expected until at least Week 6.

Tashard Choice, RB, Cowboys

Part of a crowded backfield, but with Felix Jones (knee) out for an undetermined amount of time and Marion Barber (quad) nursing his own ailment, Choice could get a large portion of the carries for at least a few weeks, if not longer.
