Susan Lucci gives LA a chance for ‘All My Children’

Susan Lucci is staying with “All My Children” when the show moves to LA.

ABC said today that Lucci and most of the other “AMC” cast members will make the transition when the veteran soap abandons its longtime New York studios for new production facilities in LA.

There had been some question as to whether the hardcore New Yorker Lucci, who’s played much-married doyenne Erica Kane on the soap for all its 40 years, would uproot her life to make the move.

With that question now answered, “AMC” fans can breathe a sigh of relief — although not everyone is going to LA.

Ray MacDonnell, who’s played Dr. Joe Martin since the show’s inception, is retiring, and Thorsten Kaye isn’t making the cross-country move.

“AMC” tapes its last episode in New York Dec. 11, with production resuming at LA’s Andrita Studios on Jan. 4.
