Sicko shutterbug

Have camera, will catch women in compromising positions.

A 32-year-old shutterbug is facing charges of unlawful surveillance and criminal trespass last week when he was caught allegedly peering through a window and snapping up photos of a young woman in her underwear.

When cops shut down Oluyinka Oyesiku’s lurid photo shoot, the photographer said that he was an architect looking at all of the fine buildings on Congress Street near Hicks Street, where he allegedly interrupted a 27-year-old woman changing her clothes.

Police said that the woman was in her underwear at 10:45 p.m. on September 22 when she heard a noise. She looked over and noticed that someone was peering through the shades.

The woman called police, who allegedly spotted Oyesiku walking nearby with a camera.

Cops asked to look at the camera, and allegedly found the photo of the victim on the memory card, officials said.

Bike grabber busted

A would-be bike thief was transported to jail last week when he was caught allegedly trying to swipe an $1,100 from a 41-year-old man’s front yard.

Police said that Eddie Santos, 52, was charged with grand larceny after he was allegedly caught reaching over a front gate on Union Street near Columbia Street, trying to grab the pricey bike at 3:55 a.m. on September 27.

Police Officer Paul Millard, who witnessed the incident, took Santos into custody without incident.

Footbridge follies

Two teens were held up at gunpoint as they crossed the Hamilton Avenue footbridge into Red Hook last week.

The victims said that they were on the Nelson Street side of the bridge at 7 p.m. on September 27 when a group of males surrounded them.

One of the men pulled a gun and demanded that they hand over their cash, cell phone and sneakers, officials said.

The thieves grabbed their victims’ property and ran off, but they didn’t get far.

Responding officers arrested three of the suspects, identified as 28-year-old Raymond Johnson, 19-year-old Anthony Vasquez and 17-year-old Jeremy Pavon, charging all of them with robbery.

Police said that this was one of two robberies that took place on the Hamilton Avenue footbridge last week.

A few days earlier, on the morning of September 21, a 32-year-old was on her way to work when she was held up on the Summit Street side of the pedestrian walkway.

Two suspects jumped on his back, brought the man to the ground and demanded his cash, police said.

“We are going to take your money,” the thief said as he turned to his accomplice. “Show him the pipe.”

The other man flicked his wrist, extending a thin rod hidden in his jacket sleeve.

The victim handed over his wallet, cash and cell phone before the thieves could use their new toy.

It was unclear if these two incidents were connected as this paper went to press.

Cold crime

A thief wormed his way into a Columbia Street home after removing an air conditioner sticking out of a window, police said.

Yet despite all the hard work, the thief entering the home near Kane Street ended up swiping a flashlight and $3 in change, police said.

The 73-year-old victim said the break-in took place sometime between 10:30 a.m. and 10 p.m. on September 14.

Bag grab

An unattended bag became a lucrative opportunity for one criminal mind shopping at the Ikea, 1 Beard Street, last week, police said.

A 23-year-old woman told police that she was shopping at the furniture warehouse at 2:40 p.m. on September 17 when she realized that she left her bag in another part of the massive store.

She ran back to the bag, but someone had already helped themselves to her wallet and credit cards, police were told.
