‘Kate’ minus Jon

JON Gosselin is trying to delay his divorce, but that won’t stop TLC from axing him from his own show.

Gosselin yesterday asked a court-appointed arbitrator to suspend his acrimonious divorce from Kate Gosselin for 90 days.

The move is seen as Jon’s effort to have more say in his kids’ lives once the divorce is finalized.

TLC, meanwhile, says it’s changing the name of “Jon & Kate Plus 8” to “Kate Plus 8” beginning Nov. 2 — with the show focusing on Kate and the eight kids.

Jon, who’s still under contract to TLC, will appear on the show “on a less regular basis,” according to network officials.

His bid to have his pending divorce suspended was first reported by In Touch.

“I regret my conduct since Kate and I separated,” he told the magazine. “I used poor judgment in publicly socializing with other women so soon.”

Gee, ya think?

Since splitting with Kate, Jon has been linked to a bevy of women.

His lawyer, Mark Jay Heller, says Jon now realizes he might have handled things a bit differently.

“He woke up one morning, looked in the mirror and didn’t like the reflection,” Heller told In Touch.

“Jon & Kate,” meanwhile, has been shedding viewers, with last Monday’s episode averaging only 1.7 million viewers — down from nearly 10 million in May.

Despite that, TLC president/GM Eileen O’Neill says TLC is developing another project for Kate for 2010, which likely means the end of “Kate Plus 8.”

Kate recently shot a “View“-type talk show pilot hosted by Paula Deen.
