BX. CABBY SHOT DEAD IN ROBBERY

A Bronx livery-cab driver was shot and killed during an apparent robbery yesterday, just days after starting work driving the dangerous night shift.

Amadou Ndiaye, 47, was found shot once in the chest shortly after midnight in Baychester at Wilson Avenue and Boston Road.

The Senegalese native was likely shot by a would-be passenger and lost control of his car, slamming it into two parked cars, sources said.

The cabby drove from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and made do with a tiny basement apartment in Morrisania so he could send money to his wife and two sons in Africa, his roommate said.

“My best friend died today,” said the roommate, Kebba Jeng. “He had less than $30 in his hand.”
