Hours after Paula Abdul announced her departure from “American Idol,” NBC reality boss Paul Telegdy said he is “absolutely” interested in bringing the loopy star to the Peacock Network.
“Is it something I have given thought to? Yeah. I think she is a huge talent,” he tells The Post. “America has huge affection for her. I don’t have specifics about shows or show ideas.”
Telegdy said Abdul, 47, has pitched several shows to NBC in the past — mostly concepts that are “in her wheelhouse,” like dancing competitions.
As for how he sees this impacting” Idol”? “As a viewer I would miss her on the show,” he said.
