MAN PROPOSES AT NY AUTO SHOW

This love will last to Infiniti – or at least until the warranty wears out.

A car-crazed couple got engaged today at the New York International Auto Show in front of their favorite car – the new Infiniti G37 convertible – and a crowd of touched onlookers.

David Yusopov, 24, hijacked the G37 demo — taking the mike from the presenter and getting down on one knee — to pop the question to Ellona Niyazov, 23, in front an applauding crowd.

Luckily for him, he got the green light.

“I wanted to do something different,” said Yusopov, a Queens hairstylist. He’s been a faithful Auto Show attendee for years and a faithful Infiniti lover forever. He currently drives a white Infiniti G35, which he says helped him land his girlfriend of six months.

“When she first met me she saw me in the car and liked it,” he said.

At the show, Yuspov ditched Niyazov, a Queens pre-school teacher, briefly as they were walking around, and asked the Infiniti staff if he could stage his proposal during their demo.

Presenter Natalie Slipko was game and called the anxious Yusopov to the platform mid-speech. She asked him who he thought would look good in the car with him. Yusopov grabbed the mike, pointed to his girlfriend, and asked her up to the stage.

“I couldn’t get her the car, because it’s not out yet. But I got her something else. What I got her is a ring.”

“Ellona will you marry me?”

He said, falling on bended knee.

“Will you marry me?” he asked.

When the stunned woman said “Yes, I do,” Yusopov slid a piece of hardware onto her finger — a 1.5 carat diamond solitaire set in platinum — and the crowd went crazy.

“I was shocked,” said the bride-to-be of the unusual proposal. “I thought he was going to give me the keys to a convertible Infiniti!”

Later, when Yusopov asked Niyazov what she liked better – him of the ring – she took the high road.

“I like the car the best!”
