STYLE GOES TO DOGS

MANY of the world’s top designers have created high-fashion threads for kids, but pets were overlooked until now.

Roberto Cavalli, who scored a hit with his low-priced collection for H&M, now scores again with his new collection of doggie duds.

The fashion world loves a petite figure, so not surprisingly, Cavalli’s line is designed for tiny dogs like Willis, a five-pound rescued Chihuahua who has his own blog on the Humane Society’s Web site (humanesocietyny.org).

So if you like haute, gold-trimmed bling true Cavalli style it’s a no-brainer to coordinate your outfit with your dog’s. Check out the line at Cavalli’s flagship store (711 Madison Ave.; 212-755-7722).

Dressing alike isn’t the only pet-friendly style statement you can make. Beauty products can also be shared with furry friends.

Sometimes we humans sprout whiskers overnight. These look cute on pets, but on us…not so much. Meanwhile, tick season is less than two months away, so plucking these pesky, disease-carrying pests off your dog is a must. The only tool for removing both unwanted hairs from your chin and ticks from your pet is a pair of tweezers. Stylish ones by Kiss come packaged in pairs, with two different tips (slanted and pointed); they’re available at Kmart.

With summer on the way, people with fair skin need to start thinking about protection from harsh UV rays and so do owners of hairless dogs, or pups with pale pink noses. FaunaPet offers SPF 15 sunscreen for pets and people to share at Fauna-Pet.com.

Lastly, another secret for all youthful-looking creatures is an omega oil supplement, which nourishes the skin and hair from the inside. Nordic Naturals makes excellent supplements for both human and pet “haircoats” at NordicNaturals.com.
