Boy, AC Milan weren’t kidding when they said they were desperate to keep David Beckham. They’ve backed up the Brinks truck, reportedly upping their offer to MLS to nearly $20 million in an effort to make Beckham’s loan deal permanent.
Goldenballs has supposedly consulted his lawyers to see about the possibility of making this move. He’d keep his roughly $5 million/year salary, but the sticking point may be all the extra income he was pulling in on his Galaxy deal. Even if he never brings in the $25 million/year that was originially thrown around, he’ll still get at least $17 million or so if he stays in L.A. In this economy, that’s not too bad, I guess.
So what do you think happens? Think MLS takes the money and runs? Holds out for even more? Think Goldenballs takes a pay cut to put his money where his mouth is, and have a chance at top-flight European football? Share your thoughts….
