JAIL SOBERS HIM RIGHT UP

The dopey commodities broker charged with drunkenly setting a small fire in an elevator at 7 World Trade Center Saturday was released without bail yesterday – and said it’s better to be in bars than behind them.

“Have you ever been to Central Booking?” asked 24-year-old Ryan Brinkerhoff, at his Jersey City home. “Try to avoid it.”

Brinkerhoff, a broker with DRW Commodities, showered and changed following his arraignment in Manhattan Criminal Court on charges of burglary, robbery and arson, then headed out to pick up Sunday’s Post and other papers to read about himself.

He apparently set the blaze to get attention after he got stuck in a freight elevator while trying to get back into his office to retrieve his jacket.

“He’s not a danger to anyone,” lawyer Leon Borstein said.

Outside court, Brinkerhoff dialed his drinking buddy from Saturday morning, telling him, “I was in jail for a couple of days, but I’m OK.”
