MEEKS INTERVIEWS FOR JETS JOB

The Jets interviewed Colts defensive coordinator Ron Meeks yesterday, wrapping up Week 2 of their search to replace Eric Mangini.

Meeks, 54, has been with the Colts for seven years. The Colts finished tied for sixth in the NFL rankings for total defense this year.

The Jets could interview Ravens defensive coordinator Rex Ryan as soon as tomorrow. If the Ravens defeat the Titans today, the Jets will interview him in the Baltimore area on the Ravens’ day off. If the Ravens lose, the interview will be in New Jersey some time in the coming days.

So far the Jets have interviewed Giants defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo, former Boston College coach Jeff Jagodzinski, Cardinals assistant Russ Grimm, Meeks, and in-house candidates Brian Schottenheimer and Bill Callahan.

Leon Washington was named first-team All-Pro at kick returner. Guard Alan Faneca and nose tackle Kris Jenkins were picked for the second team.
