L-U-C-K, Luck, Luck, Luck

Eric Mangini may not want to admit it but his team was more lucky than good yesterday. Dick Jauron gift-wrapped a win for the Jets after they looked like they were going to give one away.

Today, you’ll hear from the Jets that a “win is a win” and that all that matters is they’re in first place. Maybe that’s true but I think there has to be some panic at Jet headquarters this morning.

The offense was ineffective after the first two drives. Brett Favre had one terrible interception and the third down problems were present again. No first downs in the fourth quarter? And can Leon get more than one carry?

The defense played better but it was hard to tell if that was because of J.P. Losmana better effort. The defense got together at a Jersey steakhouse last week to try to come together. Marshawn Lynch didn’t get the memo. He ran all over them. In the end, they came through with three tunovers in the final two minutes, including the big one that Shaun Ellis returned for a touchdown.

Another West Coast trip looms. After the last three weeks I’m still puzzled whether this team is any good or not. I know what I saw in Nashville wasn’t a mirage but this doesn’t look like the same team.
