Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver will join children from the community in welcoming new Nets forward Yi Jianlian to the Chinatown YMCA Monday at 4:15 p.m., the 7-footer’s first public visit to Chinatown as a member of the Nets. Yi was traded by the Bucks this summer in the Richard Jefferson deal.

Larry Miller, the owner of the Jazz, had outpatient surgery Wednesday for a bone infection and diabetic ulcers doctors discovered on his foot. Miller’s wife, Gail, said he will undergo six weeks of IV and hyperbaric chamber therapy for the conditions. The 64-year-old Miller had a heart attack this summer.

Rockets guard Rafer Alston was found not guilty Friday on a drunken-driving charge. A Harris County jury cleared the 32-year-old point guard of the misdemeanor, court spokesman Fred King said. Alston was arrested in August after he was pulled over by police who said he made an erratic lane change and was driving without his headlights on.
