Game 117: Marlins at Mets

The Mets go for the sweep this afternoon against the Marlins when Mike Pelfrey takes on Florida’s Josh Johnson at Shea Stadium. Pelfrey is 8-1 in his past 10 starts after a 2-6 start, but the 6-6 Johnson — who has an overpowering fastball — will be a stiff test for the Mets after making a terrific comeback from arm surgery.

Jerry Manuel is doing some more tinkering with his lineup, moving Carlos Beltran out of the cleanup role again despite a 3-for-3 night Saturday that included his first homer in nearly a month. Saturday hero Daniel Murphy, meanwhile, is getting a richly deserved start in left.

Overall, the 62-54 Mets’ lineup will look like this:

Jose Reyes SS

Argenis Reyes 2B

David Wright 3B

Carlos Delgado 1B

Carlos Beltran CF

Daniel Murphy LF

Brian Schneider C

Endy Chavez RF

Mike Pelfrey RHP (10-7, 3.85)

The Marlins, who are 1 1/2 games behind the Mets in third place at 61-56, will counter with:

Hanley Ramirez SS

Luis Gonzalez LF

Jorge Cantu 3B

Mike Jacobs 1B

Dan Uggla 2B

Cody Ross CF

Jeremy Hermida RF

Matt Treanor C

Josh Johnson RHP (2-0, 3.34)
