Located adjacent to the Here Arts Center, 1 Dominick is a lofty new wine bar and restaurant from chef Jimmy Carbone of Jimmy’s No. 43 in the East Village. His new SoHo spot is an all-day affair with breakfasts of bombolini ($4) and fig and ricotta paninis ($4.50) served with Gorilla coffee and a menu of Italian fare for dinner.
Must-have meal: Italian tapas like burrata with radishes, turnip greens, olive oil and sea salt ($12); Friselle (a Pugliese “sun-dried bagel” topped with marinated sungold tomato and onion salad, sea salt, olive oil and marjoram, $8.50); the focaccia Camogli “Il melti” (left, a Ligurian flatbread served warm stuffed with oozing stracchino cheese, $8); and Joey’s dairy ricotta, with orange blossom honey, pine nuts, lemon-scented panna cotta and Budino bread pudding ($6).
Soundtrack: The resident iPod delivers a diverse selection of pop, blues and jazz.

If you’re a fan of Cafeteria, you’ll love Delicatessen, owned and created by Mark Thomas Amadei and Andrew Glassberg, two of the original owners of 24-hour Chelsea grub spot. Their latest project evokes a similar ultra-hipster style with a menu of modern, international comfort food – cheeseburger spring rolls, anyone? – from chef Doron Wong. This chic SoHo space designed by ANYK features stainless steel, glass accents and a 40-seat outdoor cafe. Downstairs, their cocktail lounge called “minibar” serves small plates and fancy drinks.
Must-have meal: Reuben fritters with Thousand Island dressing ($9); buttermilk-marinated fried chicken in a bucket with spicy coleslaw, jalapeÑo biscuits and homemade ranch dressing (right, $14); and Black Forest cake with black cherry ice cream ($8).
