The E.W. Scripps Spelling Bee Championship makes it to prime time on ABC this Friday (preliminary rounds air earlier in the day on ESPN). The etymology-lovers competition made us feel dumb long before “Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?” And yes, I had to look up how to spell “etymology.”
