SI Yankees job fair

The Staten Island Yankees have announced that they will hold a job fair on Saturday, April 5, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Center Court of the Staten Island Mall.

The team is looking for employees to fill more than 150 positions for the upcoming 2008 season. Open positions are seasonal and include box office attendant, ticket usher, customer service representative, gift shop associate, luxury suite attendant, parking lot attendant, cook/chef, food preparation/concession attendant, and grounds crew.

Staten Island Yankees executive vice president and general manager Jane M. Rogers is looking forward to filling the team’s staff with new recruits.

“Games at the stadium are more fun now than ever before,” Rogers said. “Our fans have fun and we have fun. Working at Richmond County Bank Ballpark is an extremely rewarding experience, and this job fair will give many New Yorkers and baseball fans the chance to partake in that. Our employees are among the few who can actually say that they love their job.”

Staten Island Yankees president Joe Ricciutti welcomes those of all ages and experience levels.

“Who could ask for a better summer job than one in which your office is a baseball stadium?” Ricciutti said. “Whether you’re a college student looking for something to do this summer, somebody seeking part-time employment to make some extra income, or if you’re retired and would simply like to spend your summer days at a ballpark, we want you to come out on Saturday and find out just how great it is to work with the Staten Island Yankees.”

The Staten Island Yankees kick off the 2008 season June 17 against the Brooklyn Cyclones at KeySpan Park. The team’s first home game will be June 18 against the Cyclones at Richmond County Bank Ballpark.

Season, group, and single game ticket information is available on the web at www.siyanks.com, by calling (718) 720-9265, or by visiting the Richmond County Bank Ballpark box office between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
