FOREMAN SQUARES OFF

Yuri Foreman will defend his North American Boxing Federation light middleweight championship tomorrow night at Aviator Sports & Recreation in Brooklyn. Foreman (24-0, 8 KOs) will face the heavy-handed Saul Roman (28-4, 24 KOs) of Tijuana, Mexico. The scheduled 12-rounder is the finale of a seven-fight card produced by Sal Musumeci of Final Forum Boxing.

Joshua Clottey (33-2, 19 KOs) will face Jose Cruz (34-3, 27 KOs) in another highly-anticipated matchup. Also on the card are Mike Ruiz, Chris Algieri, Anthony Lenk, Argenis Mendez and Joselito Collado.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the first fight slated for 7:30 p.m. Tickets cost $150, $100 and $40 and can be purchased at Aviator Sports. The Foreman-Roman fight will be televised on a state-wide basis by cable sports channel Versus.

The fight will be a homecoming for Foreman, who was born in Russia but grew up in Brighton Beach. Foreman’s last fight was Dec. 6 at the Paradise Theater in The Bronx where he won a split decision over Andre Tsurkan.
