Days after disgraced media baron Conrad Black began doing time in a Florida prison, his scofflaw son has been busted for a hit-and-run crash that could land him behind bars.
Toronto police charged Jonathan David Black, 30, with failing to stop after an accident, careless driving, and driving with a suspended license and without insurance.
The younger Black, whose license was suspended for unpaid traffic tickets, faces two years in jail and up to $50,000 in fines.
Police said Black’s silver Infiniti rear-ended a stopped GMC truck in Toronto’s financial district on March 13. The truck’s driver was rendered unconscious and had to be hospitalized.
Black, the tycoon’s eldest son and a former Ford model, sped off but turned himself in three days later, police said.
Police said a witness to the accident noted the Infiniti’s license plate number, and police seized the Infiniti at the palatial Black mansion in a posh Toronto suburb.
