MEET THE METS’ NEW ACE

AS the new host of “Mets Weekly,” Jocelyn Pierce hopes fans are quick to appreciate her work, which begins in spring training.

On the show, the Toa Alta, Puerto Rico, native plans on “showing the guys from the Mets in a different light as opposed to just as baseball players.”

She might take David Wright shopping, for example, or Johan Santana bowling or someone else mini-golfing.

“I want to give fans an inside look at the players,” she says.

The sometime model (she’s worked with Baby Phat and DKNY, among others) has New York sports-broadcasting experience, having spent some time reporting at WNBC.

There’s a personal local sports connection, too. Her fiancé is none other than New York Giants linebacker Antonio Pierce.

“Speaking Spanish is a definite advantage in covering the Mets,” she says.

“It helps get them comfortable for an interview in English.”
