PHONE RANT LANDS LOOSE JUICE IN THE HOOSEGOW

OJ Simpson cussed his way back to a Las Vegas jail when he tried to contact a wit ness in his case with an expletive-fueled message, a judge ruled yesterday.

Clark County District Attor ney David Roger accused Simpson of violating the terms of his bail by leav ing a voice mail for bail bondsman Miguel Pereira – in which he asked the moneyman to pass on some choice words to co-defendant Clarence “CJ” Stewart.

Simpson, previously free on $125,000 bond, was barred from talking to any witnesses, victims or co-defendants.

“I just want, want CJ to know that the whole thing all the time he was tellin’ me that s–t, ya know, I hope he was telling me the truth; don’t be trying to change the motherf— ing s–t now,” Simpson said in a rambling voice mail left on Nov. 16, according to court documents.

In his court filing, DA Roger did not speculate on what Simpson was trying to articulate in his profanity-laced rant – which took place two days before OJ was ordered to stand trial.

“You’re not to use any means to contact these individuals; don’t use e-mail, telephone, mail, passenger pigeon, no contact whatsoever,” Las Vegas Justice of the Peace Joe M. Bona venture spelled out for Simpson four months ago.

District Court Judge Jackie Glass yesterday ordered Simpson, who lives in Miami, back to a Las Vegas jail after a closed-door hearing with DA Roger and defense lawyer Yale Galanter.

Simpson, 60 flew to Vegas from Miami on a commercial flight last night in Pereira’s custody. A police escort took him in handcuffs to the Clark County Detention Center, where he will have to stay at least five days until a hearing on his bail revocation on Wednesday.

Simpson’s lawyer denied the allegations.

“OJ did not try to persuade anybody to contact a witness,” Galanter said.

Galanter called Pereira a member of Simpson’s defense team, and said he was “totally miffed” by the effort to use a tape of a permissible phone call to try to revoke bail.

Simpson is set for trial in April for allegedly engineering an armed, commando-style raid on a Las Vegas hotel room to rob two sports memorabilia dealers.

OJ has always claimed he was simply taking back personal mementos stolen from him years ago.

Simpson, Stewart and Charlie Ehrlich have all pleaded not guilty to kidnapping, armed robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, burglary, coercion and conspiracy charges.

Three other former co-defendants – Walter Alexander, Michael McClinton and Charles Cashmore – have already flipped on The Juice and testified against him in a preliminary hearing.

The Heisman Trophy winner and former star with the USC Trojans and Buffalo Bills still owes about $33 million to the estate of his murdered wife Nicole Brown and the family of her slain pal Ron Goldman as the result of a civil suit after being cleared of criminal charges.
