The Broadcast Critics break the tie by awarding best picture to “No Country for Old Men.” An unhappy-looking Sean Penn, “Atonement,” “Sweeney Todd” and “Michael Clayton,” go home empty handed. “Look what happens when you give a free meal and all the critics show up,” jokes the head of the group — ignoring the fact that most of the winners didn’t. Makes you wonder how many people would have showed up if the Golden Globes were held.
