FEDS BAG ‘HILFIGER $CAMMER’

Federal prosecutors have charged the chief financial officer of a company that makes handbags for Tommy Hilfiger with stealing more than $4 million from its accounts.

Martin Bodner, 59, of Port Washington, LI, began issuing checks to himself and to two credit-card companies in 2004, the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Manhattan announced yesterday.

He is charged with one count of wire fraud and faces up to 20 years in jail and a fine of $250,000 if convicted.

A man who answered the phone at Bodner’s home said he couldn’t comment.

Hilfiger, meanwhile, said his company licensed out his name to the handbag maker – Dixon handbags – but was not otherwise involved.
