DA TOSSES LILLO ‘FESS

Prosecutors announced yesterday they were forfeiting a statement “Sopranos” actor Lillo Brancato made to cops shortly after he allegedly helped kill a cop – just as pretrial hearings were set to begin today in the murder case.

Bronx Assistant DA Terry Gottlieb noted that Brancato – who got his start in the 1993 movie “A Bronx Tale” – had already retained a lawyer and officers should not have questioned him outside the attorney’s presence. Brancato and Steven Armento are accused of killing Officer Daniel Enchautegui during a botched break-in in December 2005 in The Bronx.

In the statement, Brancato allegedly told cops, “I didn’t have a gun. I can’t believe Steven shot that cop. I told him not to do it . . . You think I’m in a lot of trouble?”
