MIGHT it be President Stephen Colbert?
The host of Comedy Central’s “Colbert Report” says he wants to run for president – and now he’s even being offered airtime in his home state of South Carolina.
ETV, South Carolina’s public TV network, has invited Colbert to announce his candidacy on its air.
“As South Carolina’s only statewide media outlet . . . ETV is extending an offer to Colbert to formally begin his campaign on its air,” the network said in a statement to Editor & Publisher.
“This affords him the important opportunity to reach his Palmetto State neighbors at one fell swoop.”
Colbert, on last Thursday’s “Larry King Live” to shill his new book, said he’d like to run for president as a candidate from both parties.
“I could lose twice,” he said.
