WIFE’S JOY – THEN GRIEF

The construction worker killed on the Grand Central Parkway is a well-liked Queens man who had just found out his wife is pregnant with twins, his family said yesterday.

Vincent D’Aquaro, 44, died Wednesday night after a car struck equipment that had come loose from his truck, and then pinned him against his vehicle, cops said.

“Anyone that knew Vinny, he was a great guy,” his wife, Linda, said from their Maspeth home.

She had told her husband two days earlier that she is six weeks pregnant.

The couple has two sons, one 20, the other 12.

“He wanted girls so bad, he called me the other morning to tell me,” his tearful brother, Tom D’Aquaro said.

Vincent D’Aquaro and a colleague had just put out warning cones when they were hit at 9:15 p.m.

“He was very safety conscious,” his brother said. “But he hated working at night.”
