NEW YORK POLS BLAST DEAL WITH SAUDI ARABIA

A pair of New York congressmen vowed yesterday to block a possible deal to sell $20 billion of state-of-the-art weapons to Saudi Arabia because they claim it supports international terrorism.

“Saudi Arabia is the No. 1 exporter of terrorism today. They even beat Iran for that dubious distinction,” Rep. Anthony Weiner said outside the Saudi Consulate in Manhattan.

“They are not our friends, and we cannot trust how they will use their arms,” Weiner said.

Weiner was joined by fellow Democrat Rep. Jerrold Nadler, who also laid into the Saudi government.

Weiner and Nadler said they would introduce legislation to block the deal, hammering home the point that 15 of the 19 hijackers on 9/11 were Saudi citizens.
