DON’T COUNT BLAKE OUT

MEMO to “American Idol” mavens: Don’t underestimate the power of the “cute guy” beatboxer.

Common wisdom has spunky 17-year-old Jordin Sparks beating Blake Lewis next Wednesday night to claim the “Idol” crown.

Common wisdom also says Sparks has the better voice.

But Lewis, with his signature beatboxing and fresh-faced looks, has a huge female following.

And that could be his ticket to victory.

“Jordin has a lot of young fans as well, but I think the young-girl factor has helped Blake get as far as he has,” says Jim Cantiello, MTV’s “Idol” expert.

“As soon as Chris [Richardson] left, I knew Blake was a lock for the final.

“The votes Chris was getting are now going to Blake.”

Cantiello – who picked Blake and Jordin as the finalists weeks ago – also says Blake has delivered more “water-cooler” performances (more “Wow!” moments) than Jordin.

“He turned it on during Bon Jovi night, which is where Jordin faltered,” Cantiello says.

“And Blake can really beatbox and brings something unique to the table.

“He’s definitely the most contemporary [contestant] they’ve ever had.”
