The world’s largest wheel of cheese – 1,323 pounds of Gouda worth about $15,500 – was on display at Grand Central Terminal yesterday. “Cheese and apples go well together, right?” said Scott Brenner of Murray’s Cheese, which sponsored the 6-foot-wide celebrity cheese’s visit to New York from its native Holland. It’s not clear what will happen to the Gouda after the Guinness Book of Records holder finishes a world tour.
Six years ago, another champ cheese was turned into a giant fondue.
