A Brooklyn health-club owner who shut down his gym without notice – then spent the $170,000 from stiffed customers on luxury trips to Puerto Rico and Florida – has been brought to justice, authorities said yesterday.
U.S. Bankruptcy Court Judge Elizabeth Stong ordered Core Health & Fitness owner John Suarez to refund prepaid membership fees to nearly 1,000 members, said state Attorney General Andrew Cuomo.
“This was a health club that left everyone sore,” Cuomo said.
