KING BLOOMBERG’S FIREARM FOLLY

THE ISSUE: How the media views gun-ownership rights and the Second Amendment.

I want to thank Michelle Malkin for her column supporting the Second Amendment, as I was raised to believe that the Constitution is second only to the Bible (“Media Witch Hunt,” PostOpinion, March 21).

This country was formed by men and women who understood the true essense of freedom. They sacrificed their life, liberty and pursuit of happiness for our own, and now we have Mayor Bloomberg destroying those very rights.

If you have any doubt as to the Founding Fathers’ intent of the Second Amendment, read their letters and personal journals. They specifically say that the people should be armed.

Bloomberg and his anti-gun followers are truly evil. I can’t afford to hire an armed security guard like Bloomberg has.

Malkin has provided an excellent look at Bloomberg and his desire to cut off the constitutional freedom that our forefathers felt Americans could deal with in a moral and responsible manner: legal firearms.

Now we are dealing with a pedantic billionaire who also seeks laws against smoking and the use of trans fats, which I agree are not healthy.

But Americans have the right to choose their own lifestyle, barring illegal acts.

Bloomberg was made mayor of the city, not king.

He appears to believe that possession of legal firearms is akin to criminal intent, and he wants to tell us how to live.
