WHAT’S UP

Today

GAME ON: Consider it a cautionary tale for the Wii addicted: In the new musical “The Game Boy,” a hard-core gamer named Chase prefers his box over his buddies – only to find himself in need of some major tech support. Stick around after the 1 p.m. show for a “Stage Combat” workshop revealing the secrets of the best video game battles. 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., weekends through April 22. $18; workshop $14 extra. Vital Theatre Company, 2162 Broadway, at 76th Street, fourth floor; (212) 352-3101.

Tomorrow
GET A HANDEL ON IT: Brush up your classical-music trivia at the 92nd Street Y Family Music concert “Why Handel Waggled His Wig,” inspired by the children’s book of the same name. Cellist and author Steven Isserlis, violinist Joshua Bell, pianist Jeremy Denk and actor Samuel West put compositions in context by mixing music with fun facts – like why Tchaikovsky spit on a map of Europe, and what Haydn’s wife used to curl her hair. Best for ages 6-10. 3 p.m., $16. 92nd Street Y, 1395 Lexington Ave., at 92nd Street; (212) 415-5500.

SURROUND SOUND: What’s way better than Dolby? Hearing your favorite movie music played live by the One World Symphony. In “One World Strikes Back: Music from Hollywood Films,” you’ll hear such great cinematic scores as Bernard Herrmann’s music for “North by Northwest,” Igor Stravinsky’s “Firebird” from “Fantasia,” and John Williams’ “Star Wars” suite. 4 p.m., $37.50 and $40. Town Hall, 123 W. 43rd St.; (212) 840-2824.

BOOTY-LICIOUS: Recycle that Jack Sparrow Halloween costume at the Brooklyn Children’s Museum’s Family Block Party fund-raiser, “The Hunt for Lost Treasure.” A museum-wide scavenger hunt, sea shanty sing-alongs and treasure chest decorating are a few of the ways kids can play pirate; grown-ups, meanwhile, strike it rich for real with a raffle and silent auction. Local faves AudraRox provide live tunes; local eateries like Bubby’s Brooklyn, Front Street Pizza and Uncle Louie G’s dish up the grub. 4 to 7 p.m., family packages start at $100. The Brooklyn Children’s Museum, 145 Brooklyn Ave., at St. Mark’s Avenue, Crown Heights; (718) 735-4400, ext. 326.
