I SCREEN, YOU SCREEN, WE ALL SCREEN

THE New York International Children’s Film Festival isn’t the only reel deal in town this weekend. The ninth annual BAMkids Film Fest is showcasing 41 shorts and features from more than 20 countries; some, like today’s 10 a.m. showing of the “Fuzzy Buddies” shorts program, even include Q&A’s with the filmmakers. Between shows, sing along with Gustafer Yellowgold, get your face painted or have a snack in the BAMcafé. Screenings run through tomorrow, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at BAM Rose Cinemas, 30 Lafayette Ave., Fort Greene, Brooklyn. Tickets ($10 for adults, $7 for kids) at the box office or call (718) 777-FILM.

Get your green early at the New York Kids Film Fleadh (that’s Gaelic for “festival”), a collection of the Emerald Isle’s best animated and live-action shorts. Highlights include “21 Days,” a short documentary about a 12-year-old girl’s summer at Irish-language camp, and the animated “Treasure Hunt” (at right). The fest runs today from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.; tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for kids at the Irish Arts Center, 553 W. 51st St., between 10th and 11th avenues; (212) 757-3318.
